The bus depot is designed as an elongated structure with a partially green façade along Hedwig-Katschinka-Straße. Short and efficient routes characterize the clear, structured industrial building. The diagonal arrangement of the buses offers an increase in efficiency in the ratio between simultaneously operable garage entrances and exits and the floor space consumed, as well as to the required driving areas. The load-bearing walls of the office and social rooms are built with timber frame walls, glued laminated timber walls and with wooden ceilings, while the roof is an extensively greened retention roof with solar panels. The remaining parking spaces will be designed “climate-fit” as drainable parking spaces including natural shading through tree planting.
